Glycolic acid is naturally derived from sugarcane and is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). AHA's are water soluble which means that they can be quickly neutralised on the skin with a splash of water if necessary. Glycolic is best known for its skin smoothing and acne-fighting properties. It has the smallest molecule out of all the AHA's and it is therefore the most effective at penetrating the skin.
Which skin types is Glycolic Acid best for?
Glycolic Acid boasts multiple benefits for different skin types and is therefore a great all-rounder ingredient to use. If you have sensitive skin, you may find that glycolic acid irritates your skin. If this is the case, we recommend that you try Lactic acid or Mandelic acid as these are gentler.

How to use Glycolic Acid?
Glycolic acid makes your skin sensitive to sunlight so it's best to use this AHA as part of your evening skincare regime. If no irritation occurs, you can use Glycolic Acid up to 5 times a week however we recommend that you use it consistently 2 to 3 times per week for the best long-lasting results.
