Victoria Beckham's Secret To Perfect Skin
If there's one thing that gets us excited, it's seeing our favourite Spice Girl and fashion designer extraordinaire, Victoria Beckham, treating her skin to a Face the Future favourite! Intrigued? Read on to find out more
Thanks to social media, getting a sneaky peek into how the other half live is easier than ever. Instagram is littered with everything from a perfectly presented breakfast acai bowl to a shopping haul extravaganza; it's a truly addictive pastime, if not slightly unachievable. But not anymore!
Ok, so we might not be able get a front row seat to her London Fashion Week show, or join Posh & Becks on their luxury holiday to the Maldives. But what we can do is discover how the businesswoman and mother of four keeps her skin looking so fabulous.
Beckham recently shared her Mesoestetic Modified Jessner skin peel on Instagram. Let's take a closer look & find out more about this treatment
What is a skin peel?
Chemical peels vary in strength, which is determined by ingredients, percentages and the pH level of the products used. The classification of peels ranges from highly superficial affecting only the stratum corneum, to a deep dermal peel that activates inflammatory responses to trigger collagen regeneration. The level of downtime involved is subject to the depth of penetration, which should be selected by your practitioner to target your individual skin concerns. What is the Modified Jessner?
VB's peel of choice contains a variety of acids to achieve incredible results in treating photoageing, dehydration, congestion and mild pigmented blemishes.
Salicylic acid 14% - Great for penetration of oil and antibacterial properties for blemish prone skin
Lactic acid 14% - Encourages dermal thickening for skin firmness, increase hyaluronic acid concentration and encourages epidermal renewal for pigment correction
Citric acid 8% - Antioxidant protection against free radical damage resulting in anti ageing benefitsModified Jessner is ideal for dull, slightly wrinkled, sensitive and dark skins, treating ageing, acne, superficial scarring and hyperpigmentation.
It works by stimulating epidermal growth by removing the stratum corneum. This causes skin to flake in a similar way to when it has excessive exposure to the sun. The flaking will be mild and wearing of makeup can be resumed 24 hours post-treatment.
How often should I have this treatment?
After a face-to-face consultation to ensure a patient is suitable for this treatment, I recommend a course of 6 treatments every 2-4 weeks.Post-treatment care
I recommend using Mesoestetic Mesoprotech Light Water Antiaging Veil SPF 50+. SPF is especially important after a peel treatment and this lightweight fluid offers superior protection against all ranges of damaging light that can lead to premature ageing. This multi-tasking SPF also contains low molecular weight hyaluronic acid to support skin at the epidermal level by boosting hydration levels, enhancing tissue elasticity and firmness. The ultra-light texture is rapidly absorbed, creating an invisible protective veil with absolutely no white cast or chalky feeling.
